How do I get Kenrick books delivered to the Augustine Institute?

Overview

Institute patrons at the Florissant campus or who are resident in the St. Louis area can request Kenrick books through the catalog by selecting the Augustine Institute as a pickup option.  Pickup and drop-off can both be done at the Institute's library service point in the Graduate Building.  Delivery from Kenrick to the Institute typically takes 3 business days.

 

Steps  

1. Search: On the library homepage (library.kenrick.edu), enter your search terms in the main box and click "Search."  Then scroll down to see the results:   

 

2. Check Out: The options for print books will appear in the left column.  Scroll through the results to see which item you want and click on "Check Out."

 

3. Place a hold (#1): When you are taken to the book's catalog record, you can see its availability.  To proceed, click on "Place a hold."

 

4. Sign in: Then click on "Sign in."  You will need your library PIN to do so.  If you do not have a library PIN or forgot it, click on this FAQ.

 

5. Login with PIN: You will then be prompted to enter your email address and library PIN.  Then click on "Login:"

 

6. Place a hold (#2): You will be automatically taken back to the book you requested.  Click on "Place a hold" again:

 

7. Choose pickup location: You will see an option to select either the Augustine Institute or Kenrick-Glennon Seminary as your pickup location.  Select the Augustine Institute if you want the item to be delivered to the Institute campus.

 

8. Place hold: Finally, click on "Place hold" and you will see confirmation that the hold has been placed.

 

Key Points

1. Delivery from Kenrick to the Institute should take about 3 business days.  Books are transported by the MOBIUS courier, who can make trips to the Institute every weekday.

2. You will receive an email telling you when the books you requested have arrived. 

3. The pickup location is a marked basket in the Institute's library room on the second floor of the Graduate Building. 

4. There is a drop-off basket in that room as well.  When you have finished with your books, please return them there. 

5. If you have an urgent need for a book, much shorter than the 3-day window, please let us know.  The fastest way for you to get a book from our collection is to come to Kenrick's library during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 am-5 pm) and check it out on-site.
